How I Work
My approach combines structure and strategy — ICF-aligned coaching principles paired with real-world mentorship — designed for professionals and writers who want both reflection and results.
Coaching & Mentorship
Each 50–60 minute session begins with curiosity. Together, we identify patterns, clarify values, and reconnect to what matters most.
When it’s time for action, I shift into mentor mode — drawing on two decades as a journalist, editor, and professor to guide you through writing projects, career pivots, and communication challenges.
Whether you’re pitching a story, writing an op-ed, or finding your way back to the page after burnout, I offer practical feedback, accountability, and support to help you move forward with clarity and conviction.
Mindset & Communication Tools
Language Reframing: Adapted from NLP principles to help you reframe limiting beliefs and strengthen confidence.
Breath Work: Restores calm and focus during high-stress moments.
AI for Storytellers: Refines pitches, strengthens storytelling, and sparks creative ideas — without losing your voice.

“Sarah” came to me after 15 years at a major metropolitan daily. She felt invisible in her newsroom and uncertain about her future in journalism.
From Burned-Out Reporter to Confident Freelancer
Over four months, we:
• Clarified her values and non-negotiables.
• Rebuilt confidence through language reframing and breath work practices.
• Developed a freelance strategy and optimized her LinkedIn profile to reflect her new direction.
Today, she’s freelancing for national outlets, earning more, and writing stories that feel true to her again.
Coaching Circles
Coaching Circles
In addition to one-on-one coaching, I lead small-group Coaching Circles that blend reflection, structure, and community. These circles bring together professionals navigating change, a supportive space to listen, learn, and grow together.
-
A Women’s Coaching Circle for women of color and creative leaders ready to lead with clarity, conviction, and authenticity.
The next circles open in early 2026.
